Previous project
Books on Witchcraft
This was one of the most memorable projects we’ve had through the door in recent years.
We collaborated closely with the customer to produce a range of beautiful leather bound volumes. Each binding had a signature style, with one being blind embossed, another had a raised labyrinth pattern and one was half-bound in toad leather.
- Bindings: full leather bound or half-bound (with toad leather) with five raised bands and foil blocked labels on the spine. Each binding had a different design on the front board, including: foil blocking, bespoke raised moulding or blind embossing.
- Slip cases: each book had a bespoke slip case made. Covered in hard wearing library buckram and blind embossed.
- Pages: section sewn
Previous project
Lubin Tales
It was a pleasure working with Jerry and Louise from Lubin Publishing. We bound a short run of these books for them a few years ago and we really love Gerry’s writing.
- Binding Style: Hard cover (flat-back). Full bound in matt-laminated paper.

“Lubin Tales is a 64-page hardback, pocket-sized collection of beautifully illustrated ‘micro-fictions’ – short stories and musings by artist and performer Gerry King. Surreal, playful and romantic the stories are woven together from various locations and time frames; an abandoned 1947 V-12 Lincoln automobile waits for a history in a French wood, British seaside resorts are portrayed with renewed love and nostalgia.”
Previous project
Menu Holders (The City Pub Group)
Over the course of a few years we worked with many of the bars from The City Pub Group to make their menu holders.
Everything was made to order and bespoke. Each pub chose their own cloth colour and unique logo which was blocked in foil on the front.
- Binding Style: Hard cover folder with elastic band. Bound in a range of hard wearing buckram book cloths
- With foiling blocking on the front
Materials
We use only the best quality materials for all our new and restoration bindings.
Leather
We use best quality Moroccan goatskins and calf leathers, available in a range of colours.
Cloth
Good quality bookcloths and hard wearing buckrams.
Thread and glue
The linen thread is waxed for strength and durability. All our books are restored using specialised bookbinding PVAs.
Embossing / tooling / blocking
We use gold, silver and colour foils for all our restoration work.
